This issue includes details of our next event "Beyond The Book" which takes place on June 20th at The Narthex Centre, Norwich.

There is also an online webinar to join on June 18th at 7pm where you can meet the founders of the Anywhere Book Club who have secured funding for sets of book boxes to go into schools. These are to be enjoyed and used by our volunteers if they fancy going beyond the reading scheme books and include lots of literary enrichment activities with the handy companion booklets. This might be particularly helpful for engaging older readers. To get a link to the webinar email  info@thenorfolkreadingproject.co.uk

Another exciting children's event on July 18th is the Thompson Adventure Book Trail. It features a Bear Hunt, refreshments and former Children's Laureate Chris Riddell. You can even dress as your favourite book character. Proceeds will be split between Thompson Millennium Green Charitable Trust and ourselves. www.thompsonmillenniumgreen.org.books2026

We are putting a shout out for willing hands to help run our stands at various events. Please email us if you have time to spare at the Volunteer Extravaganza at The Forum, Norwich on June 4th, the Aylsham Show on August 31st or the Norwich Book Festival on October 26th and 27th. info@thenorfolkreadingproject.co.uk

Last but not least award-winning author and illustrator James Mayhew (A Symphony of Sounds) will be hosting a truly thrilling event at the Assembly House on Wednesday October 28th. This will incorporate story-telling with James creating illustrations in time to live music. Tickets will be available from The Book Hive nearer the time and will be free for our volunteers.
